Chinese Food Delivery in Downtown Eastside
Hakka-Chinese to Chinatown, Hastings & the Powell corridor — till 2 AM weekends
Late-night Hakka-Chinese for Chinatown & the Hastings blocks
The Downtown Eastside covers Chinatown, the Gastown-adjacent strip of Hastings, Main north of Prior, and the Powell corridor — the tight core of old Vancouver. Chinatown's own restaurants lean Cantonese, and most kitchens have closed by 11 PM. We're a different kind of Chinese, and we run later.
From our East Broadway kitchen it is a four-kilometre run northwest. Chinese orders to the Downtown Eastside typically arrive inside eighteen to twenty-two minutes, a bit longer during event nights at Rogers Arena or The Orpheum.
The menu is Hakka-Chinese (also called Indo-Chinese) — the wok-fired southern-Chinese stir-fry tradition that grew out of Kolkata's Tangra Chinatown: chilli chicken, hakka noodles, manchurian, schezwan rice. Different from the Cantonese blocks of Pender and Keefer, and different from American-Chinese chow mein.
Why the DTES orders Chinese from IndoCave
- Late-night Chinese kitchen when most options have closed.
- A different kind of Chinese — Hakka, not Cantonese or American-Chinese.
- Bold mains sized for real appetites.
- Consistent window — we run the DTES every night.

FAQ
Do you deliver Chinese to Chinatown?
Yes — Chinatown is on the western edge of the DTES and is covered.
How is this different from Chinatown's Chinese restaurants?
Chinatown's restaurants are mostly Cantonese (dim sum, BBQ, congee). We're Hakka-Chinese (Indo-Chinese) — the wok-fired Tangra tradition with a sharper, more aromatic spice profile. Different cuisine, different dishes.
How late can I order on a Saturday?
Until 2 AM. Last kitchen call is 1:30 AM, so beat the cutoff.
Are there vegetarian Chinese options?
Yes — Veg Manchurian, Paneer Chilli, Honey Chilli Potatoes, Veg Hakka Noodles, Veg Schezwan Fried Rice and Veg Steamed Momos.
