Nepalese

Handcrafted momos — six styles, all hand-pleated

What Nepalese momos are

Momos are the dumpling that defines Nepalese street food — thin, hand-pleated wrappers around seasoned filling, steamed and served with a chutney that ranges from mild sesame-tomato to seriously hot. They are eaten by hand, dipped, and finished in three bites.

At IndoCave we make wrappers fresh in-house and hand-pleat every momo to order. No frozen, no shortcut.

The six styles on our menu

  • Chicken Steamed Momos — the classic. 10 pieces with house chutney.
  • Veg Steamed Momos — cabbage, carrot, onion, ginger, garlic.
  • Jhol Momos — steamed momos in a warm tomato-sesame broth. More about jhol →
  • Chilli Momos — tossed Indo-Chinese style in our chilli sauce. Chicken or veg.
  • Schezwan Momos — tossed in our house schezwan paste. Sharp and pungent.
  • Pan-Fried Chilli Momos — crisped in the wok before the chilli toss.

How we cook them

Wrappers are rolled fresh every shift. Filling is seasoned with ginger, garlic, onion, cilantro and our spice blend. Each momo is hand-pleated — usually 16 pleats per piece — then steamed to order, packed for delivery so the wrapper stays delicate.
